A Musical Journey

Green Dolphin Street is a jazz trio/quartet based in Melbourne Victoria, that pays homage through its name, to the movie ‘Green Dolphin Street’, starring Lana Turner. Expect smooth and sultry jazz and blues with some added star power in the backline! Keys player, Noel Kennedy paved his way playing with Australia’s own glam pop/rock band Supernaut in the 70’s, whilst soulful vocalist Cleo Howman sashayed her way through to the final 12 in Australia’s 2011 X-Factor on Channel 9. Combine her father, Joe Howman who’s bandmaster and lead trumpeter for Brisbane’s own Art Deco Dance Orchestra (residents of The Lounge, Nundah) and her DJ brother Karl Howman on bass guitar and you’re looking at an unmissable show! Green Dolphin Street reinterprets popular 1940’s songs from greats of the bygone era such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughn to name a few.
Jazz has always been in their veins and since forming, ‘Green Dolphin St.’ has brought their engaging, fun and intimate sets to jazz and blues venues all across Melbourne.
